It is also frequently used by people seeking a second opinion on a previous occupational health report produced by an employer-instructed doctor, and by individuals with disabilities or long-term conditions who wish to understand how their rights under the Equality Act 2010 apply to their situation.
What Does the Report Cover?
The report covers a full medical and occupational history, an assessment of your current health conditions and how they affect your ability to work, and a professional opinion on your fitness for work, adjusted duties, or a phased return. Where relevant, the report will consider whether your condition may constitute a disability under the Equality Act 2010 and will include recommendations on reasonable adjustments. Any further investigations or referrals considered appropriate will also be documented. The report concludes with a confidential professional summary and opinion.
How Is the Appointment Conducted?
The consultation can take place face-to-face at our Slough or Southampton clinic, by telephone, or by video — whichever is most convenient for you. The appointment typically lasts between thirty
and sixty minutes depending on the complexity of your situation.

Pricing and Report Delivery
The self-referred independent occupational health report is priced at £250 for a standard clinic consultation. The report is issued as a PDF document within five to seven working days of your appointment. The report belongs to you entirely and will never be shared with any third party without your explicit written consent.

Can I share this report with my employer?
Yes. The report belongs to you entirely. You may share it with your employer, HR, your GP, a solicitor, or an employment tribunal — or choose to keep it entirely private. We will never share your report without your written consent.
Is this the same as an employer-referred occupational health report?
The clinical standard and professional quality are identical. The key difference is that you instruct the doctor directly rather than your employer doing so, which means the report reflects your interests and you retain full control over how it is used.
Will my GP receive a copy?
Only if you specifically request this. We do not share your report with any third party, including your GP, without your written consent.
Is the doctor registered and fully qualified?
Yes. All assessments are performed by our GMC-registered Occupational Health Physician, who holds full medical indemnity and is the owner of Cherries Medical Clinic.
