About the Kuwait Visa Medical
The Kuwait Visa Medical is a mandatory health assessment required for expatriates applying for a work permit or residency visa in the State of Kuwait. Kuwait requires a comprehensive health screening to confirm that applicants are free from infectious diseases before a work permit or residency visa is finalised and issued.
Why Is This Medical Required?
The Kuwaiti government requires this medical as part of its public health policy, ensuring that all incoming workers are free from communicable diseases including HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and Tuberculosis. The medical must be completed by an appropriately qualified and registered doctor, and the documentation must be in the correct format for submission to the Kuwaiti immigration authorities or your employer’s HR team.
Eligible Visa and Permit Types
✔ Work and Employment Visa (Z Visa)
✔ Residency Permit
✔ Government Sector Employment Visa
✔ Family Dependent Visas
What the Medical Assessment Includes
The Kuwait Visa Medical includes a full clinical physical examination, a blood panel screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and a full blood count, and urinalysis. Where a Chest X-ray is required to screen for Tuberculosis, a referral letter will be generated at your appointment so that you can take this to a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The cost of the Chest X-ray is not included in the medical fee and typically ranges from £75 to £90 depending on the provider and location. All required Kuwait medical documentation will be completed and the appropriate medical certificate issued.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
✔ Valid passport
✔ Kuwait employer medical form if provided by your employer
✔ Passport-sized photographs
✔ A GP medical summary or list of current medications
Certificate Turnaround
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all laboratory blood test results have been received and, where a Chest X-ray was required, once the radiologist’s report has been returned and confirmed as satisfactory. Certificate issuance is subject to all results being satisfactory. We will keep you informed throughout the process.
Pricing and Appointments
The price for this medical is available upon request as it varies depending on the specific investigations required, the visa type, and whether additional tests such as a Chest X-ray or extended blood panel are needed. Please contact us before booking and we will provide you with a clear, transparent quotation. Same-week appointments are available at both our Slough (Berkshire) and Southampton clinics. To request a quotation or book, please call us on 07306852397 or email info@cherriesmedicalclinic.co.uk.

Any expatriate applying for a Kuwaiti work permit or residency visa requires this medical. It applies across all employment sectors.
Kuwait requires screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and Tuberculosis (via Chest X-ray) as standard. A full blood count is also included.
Typically three months from the date of issue. Please verify the current validity requirements with your employer or the Kuwaiti Embassy before booking.
Yes. Our examining doctor is FCDO-registered, which means he is legally authorised to attest and certify medical documentation for visa and immigration purposes in the United Kingdom. This is a key requirement for many visa applications, as the medical certificate may need to be submitted to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for legalisation (apostille) before it is accepted by the relevant embassy or consulate. You can therefore be confident that any certificate we issue will meet the requirements of the embassy or immigration authority to which it is submitted.
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all relevant investigation results have been received. This includes blood test results from the laboratory and, where applicable, the results of a Chest X-ray (CXR). Where a Chest X-ray is required, we will provide you with a referral letter at your appointment so that you can attend a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The certificate can only be issued once all results have been confirmed as satisfactory. Turnaround times depend on the specific laboratory and radiology provider used. We will keep you informed and updated at every stage of the process and aim to issue your certificate as promptly as possible once all results are to hand.
