About the Bahrain Visa Medical
The Bahrain Visa Medical is a mandatory health assessment required for expatriates applying for an employment visa or residency permit in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain is a major regional hub for oil and gas, finance, and healthcare professionals, and the medical must confirm that all applicants are free from infectious diseases before a work permit is granted.
Why Is This Medical Required?
The Bahraini government requires this medical as part of the work permit and residency application process. The assessment must be completed by a suitably qualified and registered doctor, and the documentation must be in the correct format for submission to the Bahraini immigration authorities or your employer’s HR department.
Eligible Visa and Permit Types
✔ Employment Visa and Work Permit
✔ Residency Permit
✔ Family Dependent Visa
✔ Professional License Applications in healthcare and legal sectors
What the Medical Assessment Includes
The Bahrain Visa Medical includes a full clinical physical examination, blood tests screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and a full blood count, and urinalysis. Where a Chest X-ray is required to screen for Tuberculosis, a referral letter will be generated at your appointment so that you can take this to a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The cost of the Chest X-ray is not included in the medical fee and typically ranges from £75 to £90 depending on the provider and location. All required Bahrain medical documentation will be completed at your appointment.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
✔ Valid passport
✔ Bahrain Employer medical form if provided by your employer
✔ Two passport-sized photographs
✔ GP medical summary or list of current medications
Certificate Turnaround
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all laboratory results and, where applicable, the Chest X-ray report have been received and confirmed as satisfactory. We will keep you informed throughout.
Pricing and Appointments
The price for this medical is available upon request as it varies depending on the specific investigations required, the visa type, and whether additional tests such as a Chest X-ray or extended blood panel are needed. Please contact us before booking and we will provide you with a clear, transparent quotation. Same-week appointments are available at both our Slough (Berkshire) and Southampton clinics. Yes. Our examining doctor is FCDO-registered, which means he is legally authorised to attest and certify medical documentation for visa and immigration purposes in the United Kingdom. This is a key requirement for many visa applications, as the medical certificate may need to be submitted to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for legalisation (apostille) before it is accepted by the relevant embassy or consulate. You can therefore be confident that any certificate we issue will meet the requirements of the embassy or immigration authority to which it is submitted.
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all relevant investigation results have been received. This includes blood test results from the laboratory and, where applicable, the results of a Chest X-ray (CXR). Where a Chest X-ray is required, we will provide you with a referral letter at your appointment so that you can attend a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The certificate can only be issued once all results have been confirmed as satisfactory. Turnaround times depend on the specific laboratory and radiology provider used. We will keep you informed and updated at every stage of the process and aim to issue your certificate as promptly as possible once all results are to hand.

Dr Anwar is exceptionally helpful and professional. In a very short period he provided an appointment , met with my family member and provided a supporting letter to bolster an application for exemption from the Life in The UK test.
