About the Greece Visa Medical
The Greece D-Visa Medical (National Visa Type D) is required for non-EU nationals applying for a long-stay visa in Greece for purposes such as employment, study, family reunification, or digital nomad status. It may also be required for certain Golden Visa investor residency applications. The medical confirms that the applicant does not have any condition posing a public health risk.
Why Is This Medical Required?
The Greek Consulate requires a medical certificate confirming freedom from any disease with epidemic potential as defined by the World Health Organisation’s International Health Regulations, and freedom from serious drug addiction. This requirement applies to long-stay national visa applications and is distinct from the short-stay Schengen visa, which does not require a medical.
Eligible Visa and Permit Types
✔ Employment D-Visa (long-stay work visa)
✔ Study D-Visa for stays over 90 days
✔ Family Reunification D-Visa
✔ Digital Nomad Visa
✔ Golden Visa for investor residency where medically required
What the Medical Assessment Includes
The Greece D-Visa Medical includes a full clinical physical examination and a written medical certificate confirming freedom from any disease posing a public health risk and freedom from serious drug addiction. Blood tests and urinalysis are included where clinically indicated. The Greek Consulate medical certificate form will be completed in the correct format for submission at your appointment.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
✔ Valid passport
✔ Greek Consulate medical certificate form downloaded from the Greek Consulate website before your appointment
✔ Passport-sized photographs
✔ GP medical summary or list of current medications
Certificate Turnaround
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all relevant results, where required, have been received and confirmed as satisfactory. For straightforward cases where no additional investigations are needed, the certificate can often be issued more promptly. We will keep you informed throughout.
Pricing and Appointments
The price for this medical is available upon request as it varies depending on the specific investigations required, the visa type, and whether additional tests such as a Chest X-ray or extended blood panel are needed. Please contact us before booking and we will provide you with a clear, transparent quotation. Same-week appointments are available at both our Slough (Berkshire) and Southampton clinics. To request a quotation or book, please call us on 07306852397 or email info@cherriesmedicalclinic.co.uk.

No. The Schengen visa for short stays of up to 90 days does not require a medical. The D-Visa is a national long-stay visa and may require a health certificate. Please check the current Greek Consulate requirements for your specific visa type.
Yes — the Spain Digital Nomad Visa and the Greek long-stay visa for digital nomads may both require a health certificate. Please confirm the specific requirements with the Greek Consulate before booking.
Yes. Our examining doctor is FCDO-registered, which means he is legally authorised to attest and certify medical documentation for visa and immigration purposes in the United Kingdom. This is a key requirement for many visa applications, as the medical certificate may need to be submitted to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for legalisation (apostille) before it is accepted by the relevant embassy or consulate. You can therefore be confident that any certificate we issue will meet the requirements of the embassy or immigration authority to which it is submitted.
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all relevant investigation results have been received. This includes blood test results from the laboratory and, where applicable, the results of a Chest X-ray (CXR). Where a Chest X-ray is required, we will provide you with a referral letter at your appointment so that you can attend a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The certificate can only be issued once all results have been confirmed as satisfactory. Turnaround times depend on the specific laboratory and radiology provider used. We will keep you informed and updated at every stage of the process and aim to issue your certificate as promptly as possible once all results are to hand.

Dr Anwar is exceptionally helpful and professional. In a very short period he provided an appointment , met with my family member and provided a supporting letter to bolster an application for exemption from the Life in The UK test.
