How do I obtain the Motorhome Medical?
Here at Cherries Medical Clinic, we provide motorhome medicals for those who are driving over 3.5 tonne vehicles to ensure that one remains road legal. This also particular applies to those individuals who are aged over 70+ driving a motorhome. The medical will be assessed to Group II DVLA standards and will require completion of the D4 medical form.
Appointment Requirements
- A copy of the D4 Medical Form to bring in.
- Printed or Digital Copy of Medical Records (Optional but recommended)
- Opticians Prescription (Optional but recommended)
- Passport or Driving License for Identity

What would the Motorhome medical involve and how long would it last?
The Motorhome Medical Appointment will last approximately 15 – 20 minutes and involves the doctor assessing your height, weight, blood pressure and also your visual acuity by getting you to read letters from an eye chart. Following this, the doctor will ask a thorough set of questions and review any relevant medical history, GP records or hospital records that might be relevant. Again, medical records are optional but should there be a condition that is being dealt with extensively between your GP and the hospital, then it is highly recommended to bring printout letters or notes.
How often would I need a Motorhome medical?
You would need the medical at the following intervals:-
✅ New-time applicant when applying for Motorhome License.
✅ Every 5 years starting from your 45th birthday up until the age of 65 years old.
✅ Every year from the age of 65 years old onwards.
