About the Malaysia Visa Medical
The Malaysia Visa Medical is required for expatriates applying for an Employment Pass, Professional Visit Pass, or the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme. Malaysia is a major destination for oil and gas, finance, and manufacturing professionals, and the medical must confirm freedom from infectious diseases and general medical fitness for long-term residence.
Why Is This Medical Required?
The Malaysian immigration authorities require this medical as part of the work permit and long-stay visa process. HIV testing is a mandatory component, and a positive HIV test will result in the Employment Pass being refused. The MM2H programme also requires a health declaration and medical assessment.
Eligible Visa and Permit Types
✔ Employment Pass (Category 1, 2, or 3)
✔ Professional Visit Pass
✔ Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)
✔ Dependent Pass
What the Medical Assessment Includes
The Malaysia Visa Medical includes a full clinical physical examination, blood tests screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and a full blood count, and urinalysis. Where a Chest X-ray is required, a referral letter will be generated at your appointment so that you can take this to a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The cost of the Chest X-ray is not included in the medical fee and typically ranges from £75 to £90 depending on the provider and location. The Malaysian immigration medical form will be completed and the required certificate issued at your appointment.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
✔ Valid passport
✔ Malaysian employer or immigration medical form if provided
✔ Passport-sized photographs
✔ GP medical summary or list of current medications
Certificate Turnaround
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all laboratory results and, where required, the Chest X-ray report have been received and confirmed as satisfactory. We will keep you informed throughout the process.
Pricing and Appointments
The price for this medical is available upon request as it varies depending on the specific investigations required, the visa type, and whether additional tests such as a Chest X-ray or extended blood panel are needed. Please contact us before booking and we will provide you with a clear, transparent quotation. Same-week appointments are available at both our Slough (Berkshire) and Southampton clinics. Yes — the Malaysia My Second Home programme requires both a health declaration and a medical assessment as part of the application process.
Yes. Our examining doctor is FCDO-registered, which means he is legally authorised to attest and certify medical documentation for visa and immigration purposes in the United Kingdom. This is a key requirement for many visa applications, as the medical certificate may need to be submitted to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for legalisation (apostille) before it is accepted by the relevant embassy or consulate. You can therefore be confident that any certificate we issue will meet the requirements of the embassy or immigration authority to which it is submitted.
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all relevant investigation results have been received. This includes blood test results from the laboratory and, where applicable, the results of a Chest X-ray (CXR). Where a Chest X-ray is required, we will provide you with a referral letter at your appointment so that you can attend a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The certificate can only be issued once all results have been confirmed as satisfactory. Turnaround times depend on the specific laboratory and radiology provider used. We will keep you informed and updated at every stage of the process and aim to issue your certificate as promptly as possible once all results are to hand.

Dr Anwar is exceptionally helpful and professional. In a very short period he provided an appointment , met with my family member and provided a supporting letter to bolster an application for exemption from the Life in The UK test.
