About the Indonesia Visa Medical
The Indonesia Visa Medical is required for expatriates applying for a KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit and Work Visa) or long-stay permit in Indonesia. Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia’s largest economies, attracting professionals in the oil and gas, mining, construction, and technology sectors. A health certificate is required as part of the KITAS application process.
Why Is This Medical Required?
The Indonesian immigration authorities require this medical to confirm that all incoming workers are free from infectious diseases, particularly HIV, which is a mandatory screening requirement for KITAS applications. A positive HIV test will generally result in the permit being refused.
Eligible Visa and Permit Types
✔ KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit and Work Visa)
✔ KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit)
✔ Limited Stay Visa for business purposes
✔ Retirement Visa with long-stay permit
What the Medical Assessment Includes
The Indonesia Visa Medical includes a full clinical physical examination, blood tests screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and a full blood count, and urinalysis. Where a Chest X-ray is required, a referral letter will be generated at your appointment so that you can take this to a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The cost of the Chest X-ray is not included in the medical fee and typically ranges from £75 to £90 depending on the provider and location. The Indonesia immigration health form will be completed and the required certificate issued at your appointment.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
✔ Valid passport
✔ Indonesia KITAS application health form if provided by your employer or sponsor
✔ Passport-sized photographs
✔ GP medical summary or list of current medications
Certificate Turnaround
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all laboratory results and, where required, the Chest X-ray report have been received and confirmed as satisfactory. We will keep you updated throughout.

Yes — HIV testing is mandatory for KITAS work permit applications. A positive result will generally result in the permit being refused.
Some employers require a further medical on arrival in Indonesia. Please check with your employer or Indonesian sponsor before departure.
Yes. Our examining doctor is FCDO-registered, which means he is legally authorised to attest and certify medical documentation for visa and immigration purposes in the United Kingdom. This is a key requirement for many visa applications, as the medical certificate may need to be submitted to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for legalisation (apostille) before it is accepted by the relevant embassy or consulate. You can therefore be confident that any certificate we issue will meet the requirements of the embassy or immigration authority to which it is submitted.
Your final medical certificate will be issued once all relevant investigation results have been received. This includes blood test results from the laboratory and, where applicable, the results of a Chest X-ray (CXR). Where a Chest X-ray is required, we will provide you with a referral letter at your appointment so that you can attend a private radiology department at a private hospital of your choice. The certificate can only be issued once all results have been confirmed as satisfactory. Turnaround times depend on the specific laboratory and radiology provider used. We will keep you informed and updated at every stage of the process and aim to issue your certificate as promptly as possible once all results are to hand.

Dr Anwar is exceptionally helpful and professional.
