Channel Swimming Association Standards
If you are considering a Channel Swim Medical, then we are on offer to help. Our medicals are completed to the standards required for the Channel Swimming Association as well as the Piloting Federation.
The medical is required to ensure that you are physically fit to meet the demands of swimming a certain length. Most of our participants normally swim relay races across the English Channel.

What do I need for the Channel Swim Medical?
✅ A medical record is not essential but it is highly recommended to obtain from your GP surgery. Equally we are happy to see any medical information you have either through Patient Access Online or on your NHS App/NHS Login Platform.
✅ One form of ID including Passport or Driving License.
✅ Depending on requirements of the medical or if a cardiovascular issue is noted on examination, an ECG may be required (of which an additional fee of £30 is required).
What will happen during the medical?
During the medical, the doctor will perform a physical examination check including respiratory, cardiovascular, ENT and neuromuscular examination. There will also be a blood pressure assessment together with height & weight.
The doctor will then review any medical issues that you may have as well as discuss any medications that you may take.
