Are there any special precautions?

N.B Please note that we don’t provide vaccinations. It is important that for residency as well as Work VISA purposes in the State of Qatar, that you are up-to-date with Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and tetanus vaccines.

If you are British born, you would’ve most likely had a tetanus vaccination in your immunisation schedule – it is recommended that these are updated every 10 years.

You would’ve had a Hepatitis B vaccination if you  have either travelled to certain areas of Asia or Africa (i.e. Hajj pilgrimage) or you are a healthcare worker or your job involves the use of needles.

You may not have had a Hepatitis A vaccination, unless you specifically acquired this as a private travel vaccine whilst going abroad to Asia/African countries. Although this is definitely mandatory to have for food workers & handlers, it is highly recommended to have a Hepatitis A vaccine if you are attending the State for Work VISA or residency purposes.

Appointment Structuring & Fee Breakdown

The doctor’s core fee would be £350 and would involve a 1.5hr initial assessment covering all of the above, the generation of lab test requests and cover letter including ECG report, spirometry graph and phlebotomy of bloods mentioned.

There will also be a follow-up appointment (15 mins) to review results and issue the final sign-off. If it won’t be practical for you to attend the clinic again, then we can try to fill this in electronically and submit the final signed form upon receipt of all your lab results as a PDF file sent back to your email.

The additional costs may come from the processing of blood tests/urine MSU at our affiliated laboratory which at current time of writing, subject to change (Updated:- 13/12/2025) are as follows:-

Fasting Blood Glucose:- £49.50

Blood Group:- £78.75

Full Blood Count:- £49.50

Lipid Profile:- £69.00

Liver Profile (including AST, y-GT and ALT):- £39.00

Urinalysis MSU:- £52.50

*Equally given the magnitude of blood test investigations involved and their costs, the doctor would be happy to write a referral letter, should you wish to get your blood tests done externally privately following your research.

A referral letter would be generated for the Chest X-ray which normally costs in the region of £75 – £90 depending on your local private radiology hospital provider. A report will normally be available within 5 working days.

Please note that blood tests may take between 3-5 working days to get results back. We will anticipate that following timely Chest X-ray and blood test results, that your Qatar Offshore Medical would be ready within 5-7 days.
