Complete Your Additional Health Requirements

At Cherries Medical Group, we also cater for additional health requirements including the Chester Step Examination which may be needed for:-
• OEUK Offshore Employment
GWO (Global Wind Organisation) RUK (RenewableUK) Wind Turbine Employment.

Specifically, the Chester Step Test would be required for those workers who require the need to perform climbing duties, whether this is climbing a long set of stairs or potentially climbing up/down repetitively from a platform.

What does it involve?

The Chester Step Test is designed to measure your aerobic fitness and would involve you stepping up and down a platform at the clinic for up to a maximum of 10 minutes, where every 2 minutes the speed of the stepping rate would be increased.

Prior to the examination, we will work out your maximum Heart Rate based on your age and aim to reach 80% of your maximum HR. If at any time, you are feeling fatigued, breathless, dizzy or experiencing any chest pain then the test will be stopped immediately and you will be asked to recover.

Following the test, the doctor will then calculate your aerobic capacity based on checking your Heart Rate at every 2-minute intervals. Upon satisfactory completion of the test, you will be granted a Same Day Certificate for you to take.
